The team at Hearty Roots has been with the EWCSA since day one. Hearty Roots is a family farm using sustainable and organic practices to grow the freshest, healthiest, tastiest food in the community. Produce from Hearty Roots is certified organic by NOFA-NY Certified Organic, LLC.
Montgomery Place Orchards is a family run orchard in Annandale-on-Hudson, NY. MPO grows berries, plums, apricots, peaches, pears, and apples for our members from July - November.
Dairy, Beef, and Pork
A small dairy farm in Ancramdale, NY, General Cochran farm has about 80 cows that are milked twice a day. Black Angus beef cows are its breed of choice when raising our beef cows; they spend their days grazing out on the fields. American Yorkshire pigs round out its farm environment.
In 2012, Sfoglini (Sfo-lee-nee) opened its doors in Brooklyn, NY with one clear mission, bring classic Italian style pasta back to New York City. We’re dedicated to sourcing top quality American organic grains and using traditional Italian methods to bring you the same pasta served at some of New York’s most revered restaurants.
Our Saturday Space
The Red Shed Community Garden is the Saturday home of the EWCSA. Red Shed is a community run organization part of the NYC Parks and Recreation’s GreenThumb project. It aims to provide organic agriculture and horticulture in an urban setting and cooperative engagement of the local community.
